# Description
⚡ The Challenge
- Implement an instant news filtration system based on categories and tags;
- Develop a scalable "Market" module to aggregate and stream live cryptocurrency quotes;
- Design an interactive "Exchanges" directory for comparing and monitoring trading platforms;
- Create an SEO-optimized "Glossary" database for fast lookup of Web3 and crypto terminology;
- Ensure high-speed page loading (LCP < 1.2s) to maximize search engine indexing efficiency.
🔌 Integrations
- CoinGecko / CoinMarketCap API — real-time cryptocurrency prices and trading volumes for the Market hub;
- Exchange APIs (Binance, OKX, KuCoin, Gate.oi, Bybit) — automated scraping of new asset listings and directory data;
- Google Analytics / Yandex.Metrika — comprehensive user activity and navigation tracking across new modules;
- Smart Tagging System — automated internal linking between news articles, glossary terms, and exchange cards;
🎯 Results
- Launched a complex analytical ecosystem with an advanced multi-page structure tailored for SEO requirements;
- Integrated a live dynamic "Market" widget for 10+ major cryptocurrencies showing 24h market dynamics;
- Built a structured "Exchanges" catalog equipped with efficient user filtration options;
- Deployed an alphabetical Web3 "Glossary", establishing a strong organic entry point for informational traffic;
- Integrated "Most Read" and "Trending Now" ranking algorithms (analyzing viral trends over a 48h window);
- Delivered a 100% responsive and adaptive mobile UI across all new sections for an optimal reading experience;
🛠 Technical Challenges
- External API Rate Limits: Integrating exchange APIs and CoinGecko for live price updates caused the system to hit strict API request rate limits.
Solution: Developed a backend caching layer using Redis. The system now fetches external data once every 30 seconds and serves it to users directly from the cache, reducing external API calls by 92%.
- Heterogeneous Data Aggregation & Normalization: Collecting market data and exchange statistics from diverse crypto providers resulted in highly unstructured JSON payloads.
Solution: Designed a Data Adapter Layer that normalizes all incoming API responses into a single internal standard before committing them to the database.
- Scaling Database Architecture for New Content Sections Safely: Adding the glossary and exchange hubs significantly multiplied relational links (articles -> exchanges -> terms), risking a performance bottleneck.
Solution: Optimized database schemas, applied composite indexes for rapid full-text search across the glossary, and established aggressive query caching. Migrated the web rendering to Next.js using SSR/ISR, successfully stabilizing the LCP metric at 1.1 seconds under heavy loads.
